Death Blows

WOW! Ok - This book - ha ha -
Hard to discribe this book - the reading was like the first book - Dying Bites - it was slow and hard to follow along - but over all - it was a pretty good book.
Death Blows ended... wow - ok well without giving anything away - I thought I was going to skip the 3rd book that is coming out - but it looks like I have to go reserve it at the library now - I need to find out what happens with Dr Pete ... I wont say what happened to him - but it sounds like it will be fun seeing him in the next book - she has a lot of work to do :)
If you like comic books - this book is definatly for you - there are a lot of ... grusome murders that are pretty gross to visualize while reading - but if that doesn't gross you out - then it's pretty funny :)

Anyways - So my opinion of the BloodHound Files ... it's a little hard to read - but it's pretty good.
Here is what the back of the book says ....

FBI profiler Jace Valchek was pulled into this parallel realm to hunt for Aristotle Stoker, a human serial killer who preys on vampires and werewolves. Now she works for the National Security Agency of the Unnatural States of America - and her boss is a vampire.

At a bizarre crime scene, Jace finds a bloodsucker murdered by magic, fried to the bone and dressed in the costume of the comic book hero the Flash - a character who isn't supposed to exist here. Comic books have been outlawed for their powers, including crossover spells like the one that transported Jace to this world. Soon, she's following a trail of dead bodies into the sinister underworld of black-market comics - where a deranged madman gives new meaning to the term 'super-villain'

Dying Bites -

Just finished this book -
It was ok - It had a slow start - but once I got towards the end - it got a little more exciting.
I kept hoping she would hook up with Cassius or Dr. Pete, but maybe next book :)
I am starting Death Blows tonight - it's picking up pretty well where it left off in Dying Bites - So I'm excited to read it.
Dying Bites is a pretty good book that leaves you guessing - I had thought of maybe 10 other different things that could have happened - but it always surprised me. Maybe some of the reading was little over my head.. scienctifically - or maybe because D.D. Barant left a lot of details out when writing this book.
Jace Valcheck did a lot of running around and solving crimes - and I had a hard time keeping up with how she figured everything out - but it was a good run

Here is what the back of the book says ...
Her job description is the “tracking and apprehension of mentally-fractured killers.” What thisreally means in FBI profiler Jace Valchek’s brave new world—one in which only one percent of the population is human—is that a woman’s work is never done. And real is getting stranger every day…

Jace has been ripped from her reality by David Cassius, the vampire head of the NSA. He knows that she’s the best there in the business, and David needs her help in solving a series of gruesome murders of vampires and werewolves. David’s world—one that also includes lycanthropes and golems—is one with little knowledge of mental illness. An insane serial killer is a threat the NSA has no experience with. But Jace does. Stranded in a reality where Bela Lugosi is a bigger box office draw than Bruce Willis and every full moon is Mardi Gras, Jace must now hunt down a fellow human before he brings the entire planet to the brink of madness. Or she may never see her own world again…
The 3rd book - Killing Rocks comes out in December - I'm not sure if I will read it or not - but I have it on hold at the library just in case :)

infinity by sherrilyn kenyon

I just finished the Young Adult fiction book Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon -
I really enjoyed this book. I saw it at walmart and almost bought it - But chickened out. I was thinking my son (age 14) would want to read it - but he really doesn't like the supernatural world (SHOCK I know!)
So I checked it out at the library last week and after a full day and a half of reading it - It was really cute.

I thought it would be something totally different - I was thinking Todd Vandermoth (or whatever it's called) Series when I saw the cover of this book - but it's not really much about Vampires - as about Zombies - I really enjoyed the different way these Zombies were made and how they acted compared to a few other books I have read with Zombies - I also loved the scarcasm that he threw out at his mom - yet he held so much respect for her.
Great story in my book - will look forward to reading Invincible - the next book in Feb 2011 :)

Here is the summery from the back of the book...

" At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough, and savvy, Nick and his quick sarcasm are the stuff of legend... until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.
Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil covering a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead. But before Nick can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh-eating zombies. And he's next on the menu.
As if starting high school isn't hard enough... now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chain saw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that? "
